NBC’S GENOCIDE OLYMPICS 2022: - ON WITH THE SHOW
From Friday Feb. 4th to Wed. Feb. 9th, 2022, NBC Olympic anchor Mike Tirico broadcasts from Beijing in a cheezy set that resembles a Lake Tahoe Marriott, with fake show laden pine trees appearing in the windows. The snow laden pine trees did not sway or move, nor did any gusts of wind cause fresh snow to flicker and float in the sunlight, and when I first visited Beijing in January 1975 and I didn’t see any pine trees or snow peaks, so I concluded that NBC’s snow laden pine trees were paintings, or maybe plastic Christmas trees that they haul out of storage for Holiday specials.
NBC alludes to skiers complaining about "difficulties" with the snow, but doesn’t say it's fake snow, manufactured with toxic chemicals which are contaminating Beijing’s depleted aquifer, which supports a population of 25 million.
Wide shots reveal narrow ski slopes enclosed by white walls, the adjacent mountains a dull brown, devoid of snow. We are not in the Alps.
I pitied the young athletes, moments after finishing their routines, exhausted and breathing heavily, IOC minders shove a white plastic cone over their mouths and noses.
NBC mentions the Uigher genocide in a news segment before the primetime Olympic broadcast, so it appears that they are pretending to report on the atrocities of Chinese Communist Party with a bit of accuracy. Just a bit.
I have always adored the Winter Olympics since my Cold War childhood, when we were told to despise those locked behind the Iron Curtain. But we fell in love with the wondrous athletes from behind the Iron Curtain that we saw in Olympic Games, and when the Berlin Wall came down we felt relief and joy.
Will the CCP's Great Firewall come crashing down? Maybe if there are enough power cuts.
We go to the Downhill Skiing, the Winter Olympics’ premier event along with figure skating. Downhill skiing was always so thrilling, wide shots of glistening snow peaks, closeups of the racers flying through pristine mountain air, zooming across the finish line, covered in actual snow. In Beijing, NBC opens with an aerial shot, the ski slope appears a strange, thin white line, etched upon brown snow-free mountains. No one at NBC says this looks really weird.
In the Ladies Giant slalom, several skiers tumble off the fake snow, some badly injured.
NBC starts making veiled references to the “icy conditions.” Right before 2 time Team USA Gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin skies, an Italian lady wipes out a few seconds into the race. NBC says “no one got a look at this slope, due to Covid restrictions, ski teams were not allowed to visit or investigate the site.”
Team USA’s Mikaela Shiffrin leaps onto the slope and she too wipes out. Afterwards Shiffrin gives an interview, in the mandatory white plastic face cone. She is clearly distressed but poised, and says “These conditions do not allow a single mistake.”
NBC makes a veiled reference to the fake snow, saying “icy manufactured conditions might be an issue” but doesn’t show footage of the massive convoy of machines spewing fake snow onto the Olympic ski slopes, which I saw on Indian TV news and You Tube clips.
NBC’s Tirico reports that IOC President Thomas Bach ‘had dinner” with Chinese Tennis player Peng Shui, who disappeared after accusing an official of the Chinese Communist Party of sexual assault. NBC reports that Bach said Peng was in fine shape. Tirico went on to say that Peng was seen at a Curling competition with "officials." Tirico then said Peng “accused a Chinese Communist official of sexual harassment.” First time NBC uses the word “Communist.”
Then comes freestyle skiing semi-finals. NBC cheerfully informs us that the new ski slope “was built on a former steel mill!” Wide shots reveal that the Olympic venue is indeed located atop a colorless, grim industrial sprawl, surrounded what looks like nuclear power plants, the most prominent adorned with the Beijing 2022 Olympic logo, which does little to liven up the dank concrete structure.
NBC introduces “Ice Princess Eileen Gu” and with standard upbeat cadence chirps: “Gu was born in California and has an American father and Chinese mother, so she’s competing for China!” NBC does not clarify what kind of passport Gu uses,
Gu makes it into the finals and the Washington Post publishes a propaganda whopper that reads like a posh edit of China Daily, declaring “Gu is her own woman” “Gu is blazing her own trail” “Gu is a force to be reckoned with.”
Like it’s just totally normal for US athletes to dump Team USA and Ski For CCP as Dictator Xi Jingping prepares to strike India and Taiwan, refuses to open the Wuhan bio weapons lab to international inspectors, promotes the CCP’s billion dollar “medical tourism” business, i.e. “organ transplant tourism”- selling human body parts ripped from live human beings to international customers who fly to Xinjiang and are provided special immigration lanes at Urumchi International Airport to hustle them into CCP hospitals for transplant surgery, where they can pay extra for organs ripped from living prisoners within 24 hours, cause sports bring people together.
The camera zooms in on the lone viewing box with CCP curated spectators, because no foreign visitors were permitted to attend due to “Covid Restrictions.” In the pre-CCP Virus era families would fly to the Games to watch their kids compete and have the time of their lives. NBC cuts to family gathering at Olympic watch parties in Norway, America, New Zealand, camera angles do their best to cut away from rows and rows of empty seats in Beijing.
NBC zooms into the CCP curated viewing box as Tirico exclaims “Just look at those smiles!” I can’t figure out what he’s talking about because everyone in the is wearing white plastic face cones so I can’t see any smiles.
At the skating rink, Cultural Revolution opera blares during the breaks. The Tokyo and Pyeongchang Winter Games played all kinds of upbeat pop music, American, British, K Pop. Beijing 2022 is full on Cultural Revolution Culture.
The figure skating team finals begin. Here we discover that yet another Chinese American woman, 19 year old Beverly Zhu, born in California, has dumped US citizenship to Skate For CCP as Zhu Yi. Olympic figure skaters Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, who provide commentary for NBC, cheerfully report that California-born Zhu is now “skating for her homeland!” like that’s just totally normal cause US athletes always defect to communist dictatorships at the Olympics, especially when the Games are held in a communist dictatorship.
During Saturday Feb. 5th 2022 team competition Zhu falls on every jump and is viciously attacked on CCP social media platform Weibo as a “disgrace” “How dare you skate for China?” “She doesn’t even speak Mandarin” as “#zhuhasfallen” goes viral on Weibo. Many netizens write that Zhu was only picked for Team CCP because “her father is a scientist.” Zhu’s father is indeed a scientist in Silicon Valley.
At Sunday’s final, Zhu again fell on the ice, but did complete a few jumps. At the end of Zhu’s program the camera zoomed in as she fell to her knees and sobbed, she looked like a tiny, terrified child. I wondered if, like many young female CCP athletes who slip or fall, she feared getting beaten and whipped by her CCP coaches. Ice skating coaches with Team USA are not known for beating and whipping their athletes.
We learn that 2 more US athletes are playing for Team CCP - Jake Chelios, son of pro hockey player Chris Chelios, and former NHL goaltender Jeremy Smith, competing for the CCP’s Olympic Hockey team, but that’s no big deal for American athletes, cause Eileen Gu dumped Team USA and Ski For CCP didn’t lose any of her lucrative endorsements with brands like Victoria’s Secret and Louis Vuitton, plus she made a fortune cutting endorsement deals with the CCP, and that’s totally normal at the Olympics and happened a lot at the 1936 Hitler Games.
NBC’s Olympic primetime ads are consistently dreadful; frenetic cartoons, actors in monster-alien costumes attempting humor, endless Woke buzzwords and grievance narratives. There was one glitzy ad for Ford Motors, with a resentful voice-over narrating how you should feel bad for not getting what you want, because of other people. How exactly this is meant to sell expensive automobiles I’m not quite sure.
An NBC promo in heavy rotation features real Olympians, not actors, being chased by enormous, digitized Dinosaurs, who try to devour the haunted athletes. A cryptic voice over implies that this is meant to convey courage under duress, but it looks like an outtake from Jurassic Park.
TIME runs a puff piece about The Bubble; “So Far, So good”.
GULAG GAMES Day 3, Sunday Feb. 6th, 2022
Tonight’s NBC Winter Olympics prime time broadcast showcased skiing and figure skating.
The fake snow is causing problems for everyone but Eileen/Ailing Gu.
In the Ladies’s Giant slalom, several skiers tumble off the fake snow, some were badly injured.
NBC starts making veiled references to the “icy conditions.”
Right before 2 time Team USA Gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin skies again, an Italian lady wipes out a few seconds into the race. NBC says “no one got a look at this slope, due to Covid restrictions, ski teams were not allowed to visit or investigate the site.”
Wide shots reveal shiny white ski slopes built on a dull brown hill that is devoid or snow.
Defending Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin leaps on to the slope. Within one minute she too wipes out. Afterwards Shiffrin gives an interview, in the mandatory white CCP manufactured face cone. She is clearly distressed but poised. She says “These conditions do not allow a single mistake.”
NBC alludes to the fake snow, saying “icy manufactured conditions might be an issue.”
Then comes freestyle skiing semi-finals with Eileen Gu. NBC introduces the star, and with standard upbeat cadence chirps: “Gu was born in California and has an American father and Chinese mother, so she’s competing for China!” Like it’s just totally normal for athletes to dump Team USA and compete for the PRC.
NBC cheerfully informs us that the new ski slope “was built on a former steel mill!” Wide shots reveal that the Olympic venue is indeed located in a colorless, grim industrial sprawl, surrounded what looks like nuclear power plant, the most prominent adorned with Beijing 2022 and the 5 Olympic rings.
We are not in the Alps.
Gu shoots into the air, completes her rotations and makes it into the final. In her closeup, she is permitted to keep the face cone off (unlike all other athletes) as she smiles and waves for fans, makes an fist bump and shouts “Oh yeah!”
The 2nd half of the night showcases figure skating, with team finals, with 19 year old Zhu Yi born in California, Skating for CCP. Again Zhu falls on the ice, and“#zhuhasfallen” goes viral on Weibo. Many write that Zhu was only picked to the team because “her father is a scientist.” Zhu’s father is indeed a Silicon Valley scientist California.
USA Olympic figure skaters Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, who provide commentary for NBC, also cheerfully reporte that California-born Zhu is now “skating for her homeland!” like US athletes jumping ship to the CCP is totally normal and happens all the time in the Olympics.
Zhu is followed by Team USA’s Karen Chen, in California to 1st generation immigrants from Taiwan, a premed undergrad at Cornell who retained her US passport. Chen skates well and gets wild cheers from the sparse crowd of CCP curated spectators, because guests are not allowed due to “Covid Restrictions.” In pre CCP Virus times families would fly to the Games to watch their kids compete and have the time of their lives. But now cameras cut to friends and family gathering in a watch parties in Norway, Sweden or the USA.
In heavy rotation is an ad for some kind of software company with over-rated actor Matthew McConaughey who recently tried to and failed to launch a campaign to run for Governor of Texas, in a spacesuit. The ad opens with the grand theme from “2001-A Space Odyssey” then the music changes to a tacky pop thing, as the actor in spacesuit floats through flat graphics of suburban landscapes as he recites “Time to plant more trees, build more, trust time to make more space for all of us! While some look to the universe and Mars, Let’s stay here and restore ours!”
The ad so lame and McConaughey so ridiculous, and if this is best that Green Energy content consultants can come up with, please give me the big car ads of Olympics past, that had luxurious production values, clever scripts and actors who behaved like normal humans.
I can’t get McConaughey Green Energy ad pop music of my head cause I’ve heard so many times by now, then I remember the Bernays theory of advertising and I will require some serious self-care treatments if I’m going to make through NBC’s Genocide Games.
NBC does not show the host country’s official Olympic Meet & Greet team, all wearing hazmat suits and tracking all athletes and media on the CCP/IOC “Health” tracking app. The UK’s Daily Mail provides photos of the CCP Gulag Games welcome committee.
