Maura Moynihan is an author, film producer and artist.

She has worked for many years as a journalist and researcher in Asia, specializing in India, China, Tibet. Nepal, Thailand.

Ms. Moynihan worked on all four of her father’s New York Senate campaign, from 1976 to 2000. She founded Friends of Moynihan Station, and created the 2010 letters anthology “Daniel Patrick Moynihan: American Visionary” published by Public Affairs Books.

Ms. Moynihan attended high school in New Delhi when her father served as the United States Ambassador to India. From 1998 to 2012 she was a consultant and reporter for Radio Free Asia. Ms. Moynihan was a communications consultant to the Rubin Museum of Art in New York from 2004-12. In 1994-95 she worked at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and was a consultant to the Museum of the City of New York’s acclaimed 2004 exhibition, “New York’s Moynihan.”

At age 23, the artist Andy Warhol put Ms. Moynihan on the cover of Interview Magazine and for 5 years she worked with Mr. Warhol at Interview Magazine and Andy Warhol’s TV. Ms. Moynihan has held painting exhibitions, in Thailand, India, Nepal and New York City. In 2019, she designed a mural for the Marriott Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Ms. Moynihan earned a BA from Harvard University and a Masters of Political Science from the New School. She speaks Hindi, Urdu Tibetan and French and has published two best-selling works of fiction, “Yoga Hotel” and “Covergirl” published by Harper-Collins.
